About Bentley Surplus, LLC
Bentley Surplus LLC is a small locally owned and operated business currently located just south of freedom. Bentley was started in late 2010 as kinda a hobby that grew very rapidly. It all started in a garage at my home. I grew to fill two storage sheds and my garage. By late summer 2011 I decided to part with my full time job and run the business full time. At this point I obtained some space not fully used by another business and still had the two storage sheds and the garage at home. I liked the idea of working from home so I built a additional 24' x 28' garage in the back yard. Before this was even completed I knew it would not be enough room. In the fall of 2012 I decided to rent my own shop. I rented a 1800 square foot shop. At this point I decided to separate my house and business. All of well most of the business stuff went to the shop.  In the fall of 2013 I decided to rent part of one of the other buildings on the same property. I kept growing. By the fall of 2014 I decided I needed more space again. I rented the rest of the second building on the property. These three areas totaled 5,000 square feet. Once again I thought this was all the space I would ever need. Not even a year later I had yet again outgrown my space. I didn't see much more potential on that property for growth so I decided to move to a different property. In October of 2015 I signed a five year lease on half of a brand new 12,000 square foot building. It took me almost two full months to move. Hopefully I shouldn't have to move again. My new landlord is already trying to rent me the other 6,000 square feet of the building.  The new location has some features such as a loading dock and three phase power that will help me continue to grow. I do not have highway frontage anymore but I am in a Industrial park surrounded but companies that need the items I sell daily. One would think that the move was a lot of work and diesel to only gain 1,000 square feet but We gained much more. The cubic footage increase with the taller ceiling will be huge.

You may ask what exactly do I do. I buy items from businesses either going out of business or down sizing. I buy these items at very deeply discounted rates and I locate buyers for the items and resell them. I handle a large variety of items but only do so if I see good value in them. By doing this I make my living based on the way I buy not the way I sell like most companies do. If you think about it every item only has a specific value. The only ways to change that value are modify the item, create a high demand for it, or sell it in smaller parts. I only do one of these. I buy in large amount and sell in small amounts. I also only buy items at a fraction of their value.

Some of the items I often deal with are pallet racking, new and used metal, shop supplies, packing and moving supplies, tools, and closeout lots. There are very few things I won't buy at a certain price.

I also help with clean outs and do some metal recycling and clean out work.

If there is ever any thing, anything at all that you are in the market for no matter how little amount of money you are willing to spend on it let me know. I see a lot of stuff out there that I pass up good deals on because I don't have the customer base for it. In addition to the buying and selling I also work on a finders fee basis and a commission basis in different situations. I have some customer that give me lists of item they want even at very low prices and I only buy them if I can meet their number and make a profit. I have others who pay me a very small commission to find items for them and they purchase them out right.
